Have you heard about The Roster?

A while ago, several women responded to an ad on craigslist looking for new friends. We all met up and decided to start gathering once a week. We chose to call ourselves "The Roster". The Roster is a very informal social group for women who like women. We welcome all singles, couples, lesbians, bisexuals, 18+.

Bonfire Memories at Marcy's

The stars were big and bright deep in the heart of our Roster Bonfire Night.  We appreciate all the new and core girls who joined in the comedy & comradery.  A big Thank You to Marcy for graciously hosting our Friday gathering/LJ's Farewell bash!
I don't know about you ladies but I was getting hot....bonfire+ladies = hot hot.  It was like we where all stranded on a lesbian island as we all watched Lauren "Cheese" use her teeth (chainsaw teeth that is ;) to chew through wood to  make a raft j/k...a bonfire to keep us warm though the night.  It's no surprise that our power tool diva, Cheese, was the top Lumberjack of the night with Danielle securing 2nd place.  While others were doing there thing I did notice someone handling some important business.  Feleshia...You may have found a war you can defeat... The war against full beers.  Girl, you can hand out beer like no other.  There was one beer down that Marcy rescued but all was good.  To "Top it off" Stella came equipped to get wet assisting those in need of getting their tops popped.
Our grill masters Cami & Jenny cooked and hooked everyone up with some finger lickin' good food.  Others brought snacks and sweets for all to munch on that were D-lish.  You got to love marshmallows roasted over a fire or lighter for those of us who couldn't take the heat.  If it wasn't the food and fire keeping you warm the healthy stock of beer, rum or adorable puppies (Cai & Jackpot) that did the trick.  Cassi your baby girl Cai wore Jack out to the point he was snoring on the way home :). Oh thank you and Kelli for bringing Marshmallows and mustaches. Marcy says you girls think of everything! Kelli thank you for delivering the beer pong table, we owe you.
LJ...I am comfortable saying that we all are grateful for getting to know you and you will be missed, so keep in touch damn it  ha ha.  While Friday may have may have been the end of Roster having two Lauren's it isn't the end of double names in the group.  Last night we had two Marcy's, Crystal's & two Sarah's we are going to need some nickname action!  To wrap up the night we gathered in the cottage to play a slide show of just a portion of the wonderful times we have had.  It was a true depiction of Friendship like no other.  I raise my cup to all our Roster Women to say "Thank you & may we make many more memories together...Meow"
-Crystal Roster ;)

A note from Marcy:

There was so much estrogen in the air that you could have cut it with a chain saw!
LJ is on her way to Louisiana the morning after knowing that this was the best farewell party she may ever have with 35 plus women in attendance.  At least half of them were first timers. LJ we miss you already.  Please visit us soon. Thanks for the beer pong table and thanks to Kelli for delivering.  Kelli is the one with the truck (and other assets) girls.
Crystal has done a write up of some of the night's escapades so, I will make a feeble attempt to give credit where credit is due.  I apologize in advance for those that I fail to mention because there were so many of you and many first timers that my brain was overwhelmed.  I must say I had the best job.  I got to greet and meet each and everyone of you.
Kerensa it was wonderful to see you again.  Thank you for bringing the new Sarah.  She was a lot of help with the fire wood.
You both looked studly gorgeous wearing your plaid shirts.  We will do more shots together soon, I promise. So, don't stay away so long this time. We missed you.
Welcome to Tamika, she has only been here a month ladies.  I'm sure she would love someone to show her around town and who wouldn't want to.  She is a hottie for sure.  Among other new comers are Carrie, Leslie, Jessica, Angie, New Sarah and more.  So many more!
I'm so proud to say that all of our core, die hard members were in attendance last night.  You know who you are I won't state the obvious.  We missed Gina and Amanda because they both had to work.  You two will have a chance to make up for your truancy on "Sunday Funday".
Our hermana, Cami grilled her little heart out to feed the masses.  She also displayed Roster photos taken that very night with her projector and music.  A giant Roster Thank you Chica.
Plaid flannelled beauties, Cassi, Feleshia, new Sara, Stella and others looked brawny sexy as they carried and tossed logs and branches into the fire freshly cut by our super lumber jack Lauren, aka "Cheese".
Lauren is the epitome of Dykeness.  Oh my god we have fallen in love with her skills and with her.  She is so adorable and cute working so hard.  The pictures tell the story.
The theme for the party was to sport a mustache, or beard or lumber jack attire.  The first prize for this went to Lauren hands down.  We could not decide on second place because all the contestants looked spectacular.  After two runs, Danielle got the prize with her red plaid shirt, black suspenders,  sultry lumber jack socks and her "Rosie Rivet" pose.
The pose added the final touch to the pic.
Thank you Cindy for coordinating the contest.
We wished we had more than two prizes because Crystal with her wife beater and plaid shirt ensemble
and "Jackpot" her pup along with Rachel with her beard, Cami with her mustache idea that took off like wild fire, and other Crystal, Cassi  all would of gotten runner up.  Many that were not entered but, just there sporting the flannel shirts should of gotten prizes since their look contributed to the woodsy/outdoorsy atmosphere.  I remember one in particular hottie with short shorts and boots, toped off with flannel that was striking.
Thank you,  Angie for bringing the mustaches.
Thank you to our leader Sarah for bringing the boys with the tasty cakes.  Doug, Jordan, Tres Leches is my favorite.
The Chocolate was good too.  The pink and pastel plaid shirt was a nice touch Doug.
Jenny our friend thanks for putting the balloons on the gate and for helping Cami grill.
Stella you strong woman thanks for rolling the huge cotton wood log on the fire.  I know you had a helper who was she?  The two nice ladies on the blanket near the fire thanks for attending and helping socialize the puppy.
Tiffany, Kelli thanks for the great conversation.  Its always a pleasure to talk to like minded women
Oh one more thing.  I heard a conversation about Dinah Shore, the other person said Dinosaur, aren't they extinct.
Does this give you an idea of how the evening went?
I want to thank all of the women who drank beer or water or did shots with me.  I think that's the reason I can't remember everything.  I just know that you all freakin ROCK!

Goodbye LJ :( House Party!!

Hello everybody! I hope you have all had a great week. I have finally added all of our new email addresses from our sign in book, as well as new contacts from craigslist. We've finally topped 100 Rosterites!!! Welcome to all of you who are new to us :)

In honor of our dear LJ leaving our group (she's moving to Louisiana, good for her but sad for us) we are having a going away party at one of our member's house. Now some of you maybe thinking, didn't we already have one a few weeks ago? Well that one was just for practice. LJ is so awesome we have to make sure her send off is worthy of her awesomeness. Now for those new people, you may be wondering who the heck is LJ and do I really want to come if I don't know her? The answer is ABSOLUTELY!!! I have two words for you. Beer Pong. Apparently it's fantastic fun.

If you're interested in joining us and would like more info, email me at atx.roster@gmail.com. Please include your name and a phone number. We don't usually ask for phone numbers of new members, but since we are going to be at someone's private property, a little more security is needed.

I can't wait to see everybody!

To my friends from Roster last night.

I had the best time!!  I feel like each and everyone of you are my sisters.  Thanks for making roster night so freaking great and memorable! Thank you for making me laugh at cheer ups, for driving me to Rebels and two stepping with me, and for then finishing off the night at Lipstick.  Last night was one of many good times.  The time before we managed to get 14 Lesbians in Kathy's vehicle.  It made for a very risque ride.  Happiness is not the end of the rainbow but, the journey.

Debbie good to see you again.  Tiffany, wonderful to meet you and to have the pleasure of two stepping with you.
Maybe you can teach me that other step again some time. I must work at it really hard since I'm rhythmically challenged.

Leslie so glad that you joined us again. You too Alex.
Welcome to all the new people like Jennifer.  There were so many of you lovely ladies that I can't remember everyone right at this moment.
Please join us again, all of you.

Stella sorry you won't be in town for LJ's farewell party.  We will toast to you and think of you.  Have a blast in Detroit.  When you get back we'll celebrate again.

Cassie my very dear friend I'm so happy that you decided to stay in Austin and take that job offer.  Many more fun times yet to come,  Thanks for driving last night and might I add you are the calmest woman when someone hits your car.  Only you Cassie, only you.

Kelli last night's conversations bring a huge smile to my face.  You are so awesome!  and no, I didn't call out your name last night, at least not very loud ;-)

Cami, I love you Chica. I like your flare for soliciting sweet kisses from all of the willing women.  I felt fortunate to be included knowing those talented lips played sax at TC Lounge the night before.
Chrystal what a trooper you are to come out after major back surgery. You look great.
It was good to see you.  We missed your beautiful smile while you were recovering.
Cheese you still owe me some two step dances.  Oh and don't forget the chain saw.
Cheese is quite the catch ladies.  Among her many talents, she rides the bull, can cut a rug while twirling you
and owns power tools.  It doesn't get any hotter than that.  If you need any handy work done or just want to two step she is your girl.

LJ we will all miss you.  We are not prepared to let you go without a proper roster send off this Sunday.
We are loosing a best friend, Roster sister and a talented two stepper.

Feleshia you have a fine, fine a_ _.  I guess cuz you are fine, fine fine.  Are you sure you aren't a moving citation?

Shelly I'm devastated that I missed your call.  Ugh!!

Rocky we do gather on week days.  We will call you.

Sarah thanks for always posting everything and bringing us together.
Where else can you go out with a bunch of gorgeous women that will talk, laugh and dance with you?
Did I die and go to Lesbian heaven?

Ok enough mushy sentimental bull crap read next post for Party details

Come on Friday, hurry up!

Hello ladies! I hope you are all managing to keep warm during this stretch of actual winter-like weather. Well it's Wednesday evening, which means it's time to start making your Friday plans. That will hopefully include hanging out with The Roster :) Lets all go snuggle around the fire pit at Cheer Up Charlies. 8pm as usual. I don't know if there's anything else exciting going on that night, if you guys know of anything please suggest it. Otherwise just plan on us being at Cheer Ups between 8 and 10ish, and then moving on to somewhere else. Probably Lipstick24 at some point. Hope to see everybody!

The Roster - First Friday in 2011

Hello all! I hope your first week in 2011 has been successful and enjoyable. This Friday we will be back to our usual activities, Cheer Up Charlies at 8pm, and heading over to Lipstick24 around 10:30/11ish. For those of you who have never joined us, or if you were not there this past week, there have been a few changes to Cheer Ups. Mainly, they serve LIQOUR now!! They've also fenced the entire property in and added more tables plus heat lamps (maybe they'll actually work this week). Cheer Up Charlies is located at 1104 E. 6th Street, east of I35 between Waller and Medina streets. Lipstick24 is located on 7th Street, west of I35, but before Red River. We will walk over to Lipstick as it is less than a 10 minute walk and avoids parking issues. Hope to see everybody!
