A Roster New Year

Hello fabulous Roster women. I hope you have all had a splendid holiday season. So we tried to have a get-together last Friday and that just failed all around. So many of us were out of town, others were too sick to come out and play :( and Cheer Up Charlies ended up being closed. But that's okay. Because this Friday is New Year's Eve! Woo hoo! Who's ready to say good bye to 2010 and start 2011 off right? Lets meet at our usual spot, Cheer Up Charlie's at 8pm. And guess what? Cheer Ups now has their liquor license!! This is why they ended up closing last weekend, to make room behind the bar :). They will be having their first big liquor inclusive bash this Friday. It is also Tamara's (the lovely owner) birthday. They have a full line up of bands all night long and seems like it will be a lot of fun. No cover, as usual. There are several options for what to do after Cheer Ups. Lipstick24 will be hosting a New Year's Eve party as well. Tickets are $15 pre-sale, $25 at the door. For anyone that wants to party but doesn't want to pay a cover, I am hosting a New Year's Eve party with my best friend, Douglas, at his house. You are all invited. If you need more info about it email me, or just come to Cheer Ups on Friday. I plan to meet up with everyone at Cheer Ups around 8 and then head over to his house around 9ish. It'd be great if I could bring some Roster friends with me!! If anyone else has suggestions or knows of a good party feel free to let the group know. I can't wait to see eveybody!

December 24th: Christmas Eve at Cheer Up Charlies

So what if it's Christmas Eve? The bars are open and we're going out! The Roster will definitely be meeting this Friday night, as some of us will still be in town and would like to get together. We'll be at Cheer Up Charlies, 8pm. Remember to dress warmly, as the fire pit can only do so much. For any newcomers, if it's really cold you may want to look for us indoors. I spoke with Tamara, the owner of Cheer Ups, and she told me that all of Santa's elves will be hanging out there after sending Santa on his way. They are apparently exhausted after the mad rush to get all the toys ready and in need of a beer or two. She also mentioned something to me about how elves don't wear pants, so they'll be there in their underwear. I found this deeply confusing because I've seen Elf and Buddy wore pants. True, they were a bit more like tights or leggings, but still. Whatever. Learn something new every day :) So if you're here in Austin on Christmas Eve come join us!

December 17th: A Night to Remember written by Lauren

The gang staggered in from the chilly December night into a cozy and warm Columbian diner. The ladies, all beautiful and smiles as usual took their places around a table in the corner to celebrate our December birthdays, Cami, Feleshia, and Mariel. It was not long until the beers were poured, the glasses were clanking in celebratory cheers, and the night suddenly began to get warmer. Maybe from the drinks, or maybe from the welcoming warmth of our Roster group.  Not long after we all placed our orders Marcy was giving the toasts and the laughter coming from  our table could probably be heard all the way down on West 6^th.  It was to be another great night with a great group of ladies.  The food came out steaming hot and we all stuck our forks into each others plates to share, yes we are that friendly…no uptight people here! Marcy told us all about uhmm what was that root thing called again that is supposed to be so good for you?  We all caught up on our weeks and passed around the camera to try and capture the smiles and good moments.  The staff sang our birthday girls a cheerful birthday tune to which Cassi was dancing in her seat…nothing new there! The drinks had been drunk and the food had been eaten but the night was far from over. We made our way to the favorite hangout, Cheer Ups where slews of two-dollar beers were ordered. Ten dollar champagne was passed around, thank you Emily for sharing! It was there, around the fire pit where we welcomed our new comers Michelle, Suzanne, and Uzo…she gives hugs. We also made a new friend named Nicole, who just happened to be at Cheer Ups waiting for her friends. The fire pit warmed our bodies, the drinks warmed our insides, and the togetherness and laughter warmed our souls. Think the night is over now? Not with this gang. We were just getting started. We did the usual walk to Lipstick 24 in packs, all walking closely for warmth. More drinks were ordered from our favorite lovely bartenders and the party was in full swing. A bunch of arm wrestling, beer guzzling, two stepping, and pole dancing women is what we are in the comfort of our group and our favorite hangouts. Another night of cutting loose from the drone of the week,  immeasurable fun, silly pictures, and most importantly celebrating the birthdays of a few of our fabulous members.

This Friday, Dec.17th - Dinner at Casa Colombia

One of our lovely roster members is having a birthday! To celebrate we will be going to Casa Colombia for dinner. For those who don't know, Casa Colombia has AMAZING food as well as fantastic mimosas. It's located on e. 7th street, between Comal and Chicon (super close to Cheer Up Charlies). We will meet there at 7:30. The place is kinda small and tends to fill up quickly, so I will need to make a reservation. If you would like to come, let me know by midnight, this Wednesday, December 15th. Please bring cash, as they don't do split checks. Gratuity will be included for parties over 8. We will head over to Cheer Up Charlies afterward. I'm going to post in our Craigslist ad that we will be at Cheer Ups around 9pm, so that we can take our time during dinner. However, if there's anyone that doesn't want to go to dinner, but can make it to Cheer Ups at 8 let me know and I can change that. The moon was shining and bright and the weather was amazing that Friday night. As commonly known beautiful women of all backgrounds gathered at Cheer Up Charlie's where we had a great turnout of new, returning, and of course the die hard regulars. Laughs, smiles, and light hearted conversations buzzed from one end of the table to the other. It was officially the 1st night without Dyan, co-founder of the The Roster, and Sarah reigned as the new chief of the tribe. Feleshia was up to her usual... blinding people with her camera j/k. There has never been such a diverse group of ladies so open armed and minded to extend a warm welcome and maybe even a stump to sit on ;). 

As the night drew on the women began getting restless for fun so we chugged our beers like the ladies we are and proceeded to Lipstick24 to get our groove on. From Lauren tearing up the 2-step to Crystal & Feleshia taking a turn on the pole everyone let loose and mingled the night away. 

Round 2 of arm wrestling was short lived but long laughed about as the faces of our contestants were no less than comical. Hey Cassi... I thought you were supposed to defend your last weeks champ title, maybe this next Friday.

Welcome Kelli! Through arm wrestling of all things we picked up a new member.

Our natural ability to have a good time and converse with each other about raw foods to uhaul trailers never fails to draw the attention of prospect Roster women.

After at least a couple of nights out with the gals it's easy to see why we keep coming back for more. At the end of the night we hug goodbye and responsibly make our way home only to work a few days and do it all over again : )

A summary for Dec. 3rd

Last Friday night was another grand turn out for The Roster. We had so many beautiful women all at once at Cheer Ups that we had to scoot three tables together and some of us sat on logs. There was great conversation over "free" dos xx. "All types" of women in attendance, big ones, little ones, medium ones, tall ones, short ones,  long haired ones, short haired ones, wavy haired, naturally curly hair ones and my personal favorites, a rad mohawk  (Gotta love those prickly hair spikes baby), and a very cute, unique ear bonnet like no other I've seen before.

Dyan our founding member was given her going away bracelet with "The Roster" engraved on it.  From the look on her face I'd say she is rather fond of it.  Love you Dyan, we will miss you. Know that The Roster lives on in Austin.

In typical Roster style we mosied down to Red7 to support the Queer Bomb fundraiser.  The live music was amazing, one band had a lead singer who sounded identical to Freddie Mercury of Queen, what talent.  Shortly after we moved across the street to Lipstick24, the new lesbian bar. There we mingled, flirted, danced, made new friends and bumped into old ones, literally.  Great to see ya again, Stella. FYI: they will have another grand opening this Saturday. A bunch of us are planning to go around 10:30. Anyone else up for another night at Lipstick please join us! 

The highlight of my evening was dyke arm wrestling on the back patio.  Although I did partake the best experience was in the spectator seat.  See, with dyke arm wrestling as with all arm wrestling there are strong deltoids, bulging biceps and rippling triceps, very hot! There is the added bonus that comes with dyke are wrestling.  These strong babes were wearing low cut attire and when bent over a table in arm wrestling position there is serious cleavage.  No need to state the obvious.  Just insert the description used above in the first paragraph after "All types" and use your imagination.  It give a whole new meaning to the term. "big guns".

 It was the best arm wrestling I have ever seen in my whole entire life.  We have some ringers.

Did I mention there was also coyote type bar top dancing?  You know bar top dancing is when women get on the bar and shake their, ummm well they shake it.

In summation the evening was Spectacular!

As before many were new.  A Big Roster welcome ladies!!  Thank you for joining us and contributing to our fun filled evening. You Rocked!  We can't wait to see you all again.
